Makeup Shakeup for Fall

It has finally happened. It is officially fall! Today is the day you can wear your uggs with pride, double wrap your way too warm scarf, while you sip your first PSL. Is it the best day of the year? Maybe. This fall I'm going for a dramatic makeup shake up. I decided this a few weeks back but its always nice to place a date on things, right? This fall I'm going for much darker, moodier makeup and I'm excited.
I want to keep my base this fall glowy but not in a super moisturized, maybe you actually use skincare oils kind of way. To get a non-sheen-y glow I'm switching over to the BareMinerals original powder foundation. I like to work this in with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush because it is just dense enough to give coverage without getting cake-y which I can get with other kabuki style brushes.
After a summer of avoiding putting much on the eyes I'm back at it again to wear all the cream eye shadows that I own. I find cream eyeshadows are best for a one and done wash of color. On the drugstore end I have two Maybelline Color Tattoos in Creamy Beige for a light eye look, and Chocolate Suede for a dramatic brown smoky eye. For a bronzier brown I've found my once beloved L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe. And for a real change of pace I added in the MAC Paint Pot in Frozen Violet to wear purple for a change, and the glittery gorgeousness of ColourPop Amaze. I've been wearing a ton of copper eyeliner lately so I couldn't not add the H&M Liquid Liner and for a soft lash look the Kiss lashes in Chic. Last but not least are eyebrows and I'm turning back to powder brows in the form of MAC Charcoal Brown.
I'm testing the purple waters on the cheeks as well with *MAC Full of Joy blush. This leaves a beautiful cool glow on the cheeks that makes it look like you went on a brisk walk somewhere cold even if it's still in the upper 80's in NOLA. For a rusty glow I have the HEMA blush in #53. It's a gorgeous darkened red with shimmer running through it to keep things looking alive. For highlighter I have broken out the big, bold, gold *Laura Geller baked gelato swirl in gilded honey. And finally for bronzer/contour I'm double teaming it and just using *Makeup Geek contour powder in Infidelity.
So I already wrote a whole post on my lip picks for fall that goes into detail but let's just say things are going to get vampy. Oh yes.
