So at least you can shine in this gray weather.

I feel like every February I get this itch to go and make everything as summery as possible. Usually it's a great way to beat the gray winter but Lawd this winter has been basically summer anyway. So, instead of filling up and dumping endless ASOS carts full of cute rompers I'd never actually wear, I'm going for the glow makeup. You know, the makeup that makes you look like your face is a shining ball of light? That.
Keeping it super simple is what makes this more of a speedy glowy makeup routine (as opposed to the one hour makeup routine). The base is, wait for it, two products only. Oh yeah. First, I like to start off with the Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB. Which is a "one size fits all" shade, which is total BS. I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't love the product so darn much. It's basically like dousing your face in water and then sealing it all in, it's so hydrating. And normally, I wouldn't want something that hydrating on my oily skin but I think the SPF keeps this one stuck on my face so it doesn't actually disappear on me. The overall effect is a very subtle dewy tint.
For areas that need more coverage I like to go in with the Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer. It's waterproof which helps it stick around longer and obviously has high coverage, pardon, full coverage. When I'm going for this dewy look I like to apply the concealer with a dampened sponge. It does take an extra second but it helps to really blend with the barely there BB tint, and it makes the textures meld together. I use the teensy tiny end of the *Real Techniques Miracle Diamond Sponge to dab dab dab wherever I need more coverage.
We're also doubling up on the eyes! I guess you could just put on some mascara and call it a day but that feels a little boring. Instead, I like to wear a one wash wonder. This eyeshadow has been one of my favorites for literal years and it bums me out that you can really only find it at Tarjay now. I'll just use my finger to apply the L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Amber Rush over the mobile lid. Then I'll take a little fluffy eyeshadow brush to blend out the edges because, trust, you'll need it. The shadow is a gorgeous rose gold metallic so any wonky, un-blended lines look kind of garbage, TBH.
Then I will just finish up with mascara. I love the wand on the *Flower Cosmetics 3 Way Mascara, it's very L'Oreal Telescopic Waterproof which sadly no longer exists (WTF L'Oreal?). It has the long-ish comb style of brush that makes your lashes look extra long like you've been doubling up on the Latisse or something.
To keep the glow going, I go for one of my favorite shimmering blushes, *Makeup Geek Romance. It's pretty glowy, friends, so if you aren't into looking like you smacked your entire face into a good-for-you Goop digestive powder, maybe choose a matte blush. But, I mean, I'm going for the OTT glow look, so I'm all about it. To keep it ever so slightly more subtle, though, I like to apply this blush with a duo-fiber brush. It takes the edge off of the shimmer.
And, obviously, gotta do something light on the lips too. Don't want my skin getting all the attention. I've already talked about how much I love the *Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Red Berry back on Monday, so I won't bore you now. But basically it's a gorgeous red gloss that ties together the whole look.
